Why include one or several experts in a project?

An expert can add thought leadership, subject matter expertise, critical perspectives, consumer insights, markets insights, industry insights and help set agendas.
They can be included for key moments in a project, such as one-on-one interviews or short workshops.

A few things to be mindful about

  • Unless otherwise agreed, a partner or director should be the person reaching out to the expert, and conducting the interview or lead the workshop.

  • Different profiles require different remuneration. The range is between €400 – €1400 for a one-hour interview. Some profiles may be significantly higher.

How it works

When reaching out to an expert follow these 5 steps

Step 1: Understand the challenge and areas of expertise needed

Understand the challenge of the client, and which areas of expertise and type of engagement could be relevant to the specific project.

Step 2: Shortlist experts

Scroll through the expert list and prepare a shortlist of potentials from the panel. Then check-in with a partner or team lead from your office who has access to the Notion file and identify the internal Manyone profile who knows the specific experts.

Step 3: Connect with internal Manyone contacts

Reach out to the internal Manyone contact to understand the individual expert’s expertise in depth and if they are relevant for the task.

Step 4: Reach out to the expert

Once you’ve got enough information, prioritise who you want to contact, and reach out to a team lead or partner about engaging with the expert – they will do the initial introduction.

Be clear about the engagement conditions before reaching out e.g.

  • the client’s challenge and who the client is

  • purpose of engagement (what the expert’s role will be)

  • type of engagement (online interview, workshop etc…)

  • contract and remuneration

  • and finally, be sure to copy expertpanel@manyone.com on all emails for reference.

Step 5: Share your experience

For future reference, please provide feedback to the DK5 team leads after the experience.
